The Specials You've been waiting for...

What a whirlwind summer - aren’t they all anymore? We are really gearing up for the holidays and hope these specials will help you out. Fall is coming and it is time to crank up those holiday gifts.

SPECIALS:

As many of you know - TUESDAY and THURSDAY are Ladies’ Night - The studio fee is not hourly on this evening - the $6 charge covers the whole 5pm to 9pm block of painting and frivolity. This summer most ladies have made a habit of getting dinner from Tropical Smoothie - but you can bring anything you like - food or drink wise.

WEDNESDAY - is 3before3. Anyone who paints before 3pm can do so for only $3 an hour. This is half off the normal studio hour and would provide a nice quiet atmosphere to get your holiday painting done.

Here is a rare opportunity - FRIDAY - A deal on the pottery. 20% off any pottery with the letter "P" in it. Like plate or platter. Pick the one piece you want to apply this to and ask for your 20% off.


CLASSES:

There are no official classes for November. I might be doing a Princess Platter Class. Remember - if you would like a class that you don’t see - just get six people together and we will see if we can schedule a time for you...give me a topic and we’ll make it happen...

Special (temporary) Change in Hours

Just wanted to let you guys know there has been an unexpected change in hours for the week before LABOR DAY.

Tuesday the 30 through Friday the 2

I have to open the store late. 3:00pm until 9:00pm
Saturday I have to close the store early.

11:00am open time until 6:00pm early close.

Hope this does not throw a major monkey wrench in anyone's plans.

I will make some extra specials for September.

July Updates

Boy you are really missing something if you have not been coming to the summer concert series. It is every other thursday night and it has really brought nice energy to our little corner. It does stink when they shut the fountain off for it - but it is at night anyway.

Take advantage of July specials these last few days of the month - Things will soon change with August and September. No telling if you will see that special you have been meaning to take advantage of. (preposition apology)

We made some really classy stuff in the adult clay class. If we have six people minimum in September I will do another class - then nothing until after Christmas.

If you would like to take a pottery glaze class look for that in September,too.

Miss Taylor and the kids in the summer art camp are having a great time. I came in one day and found them in a tent playing the drums before making clay pots - makes me want to be a kid again. Nice work guys.

LATE NIGHT POTTERY DELIGHT

Here it comes again - don't miss it... We are open til midnight on Saturday July 30. This is a blast - we have chocolate and prizes - how can you beat that - well with a deal on the paint fee of course....

You can paint from 7:00 pm until midnight for $6.

Bring any food or drink you like to sustain you through this painting marathon. This will be a great opportunity for me to play the Elvis channel on my satellite radio again - huh guys??!!

The prizes will be a random drawing from those present hourly.

JUNE AND JULY SPECIALS

I'm off to the beach so this is going to be straight to the point.

Tuesdays - LADIE'S NIGHT - same as always - read the description from June specials

Wednesdays - BONUS DAY - Buy one piece of pottery and get the lesser second 1/2 off valid all day

Thursdays - FAMILY NIGHT - I would like to extend this special through the summer - look to June for the description

JUNIOR PEA CLUB - Kids 12 and under can get a paint discount for June and July - Buy an eight visit pass for $25 and save $15 in studio fees. Non transferrable - expires July 31

There are a couple of slots left in the summer kids camp on some dates - call for availability
The camp meets each Friday from 10 until noon and each class is different.

The adult clay workshop has been postponed due to illness and scheduling - we will start it on June 16 - no matter what... see clay therapy below

Columbiana Place is sponsoring a summer concert series again this summer in our corner of the shopping center every thursday night - hence keeping family night.

I think that covers everything - I have to go pack the car and get going - so call the store for details - Amy, Anna, and Taylor are there to take care of you. See you next week.

Clay Therapy

A month long clay workshop will start June 2 with an intro to the foundation for the rest of the course. The workshop meets every Thursday from 6pm until 9pm.

This class is going to be serious fun. Again, as mentioned before it is for adults over 20 and will be mostly self paced with gentle encouragement. For $75 I will teach you all the handbuilding I know, you can make your projects, and glaze your work.

This is a deal.

Once you know how to use the equipment, then you can use it on request later.

We will cover pinch, coil, clab, drape and slump. Sorry no wheel throwing.

We will also cover surface decoration and glazes.

This is the big kahuna of all classes. If you cannot make June, there will be another class in the fall.

I would like to keep this class to a size of six. Two spots are filled - are you in it???

Late Night Pottery Delight

Slip into your slippers and your jammies - - - it's a pajama party at The Pot! Stay up past your curfew on Saturday May 28 and paint pottery until the pumpkin turns back at midnight.

The Late Night Pottery Delight focuses on indulgences - food, prizes, pottery, food, and chocolate. Festivities are from 7:00 pm until midnight and you can BYOBandSnacks. We will be passing out chocolate and prizes hourly so come early to get in the drawing.

Purchase your pottery and get a flat rate of $10 to paint all night.

Gather up your friends and tuck your husband and children in bed - because this is a night for the ladies...

Upcoming Events

Hi - Just wanted to put a bug in your ear about the clay workshop and kids summer camp.

I have decided to teach a month long intensive clay workshop in June and another in August . I will cover everything I know about handbuilding and we will meet once a week on thursday nights. This class is for adults only - ages 20 and up. The summer camp is an opportunity for kids and this is the opportunity for adults.

Speaking of camp - Taylor Parrish is very excited to be your camp instructor this summer and we have the content and details down - we just need to put it in a pretty format and get it xeroxed. Eight weeks in the summer June and July on Fridays from 10 until noon.

April and May Painting Specials

Mother's Day painting deadline is April 30 - the last Saturday of this month. With new styles of pottery and newly stocked shelves - now is the best time to get Mother's Day gifts done. Come see the new ladybug "cheek" print that we have in store now.

Here is a totally new special for moms. On Saturday, May 7 it will be Mom's Night Out. Come on a paint date with your friends or your husband or be on a date with yourself! Make it a kid free zone - and paint your cares away. I will have cheescake and chocolate on hand. You bring your favorite beverage and get a little quality "you" time. Paint from 5:00pm until 9:00pm for six dollars plus pottery.

WEEKLY SPECIALS UNTIL THE END OF MAY

Ladies' Night - Every Tuesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm paint for a flat six dollar studio fee. This has been our tuesday night tradition. It is a great night for new people to come because you can truly take your time painting and you get great tips and tricks from the regulars in the studio. If you see someone painting in a technique you are not familiar with just ask - all of my regulars are very friendly ;) - they don't bite. (hi-girls)

Wednesday night is Livin' Large Night - Paint any ONE item in the store that is over $20 and pay no studio fee.

Thursday is Family Dinner Hours. Anytime after 5:00pm on Thursdays just until the end of May. Bring the family in, bring dinner in or get pizza delivered, and paint for two hours for two dollars. Each person that paints will be two dollars for two hours. Nothing like a little family bonding before the wacky weekend. It would be a great opportunity for each person in the family to paint their own dinner plate - don't you think?

Saturday Date Night - MAY SPECIAL ONLY - From 5:00 - 9:00pm (noticing a trend here??) painting couples will get a deal even Monty wouldn't pass up. Dating Couples will get buy one get one free status on the paint time. Friend or family couples will get a $4/painting hour status.

How about a daytime special? - Tuesday through Friday, from now until the end of May clock in before 3:00pm and paint at a $4/hour rate. Adult or child.

hello everybody,

posting the newsletter on a blog - aren't i hip?? ok not really but the email newsletter system was hitting some snags....

so if you are here you have most likely been in the store or seen the website(thanks Brett Harvey at myinfonotes.com) and would like to get the freshest news from the peas...

let me cut right to it...

normally the studio fee is $6 an hour to paint - well on tuesday nights from 5-9pm you can paint the whole time for that one price!!! we call it ladies' night...bring down some dinner and make a night of it

mother's day deadline is the last saturday of this month

i have summer camp scheduled for eight fridays through june and july. the camp for kids is between 10am and noon - maybe i should set up a seperate blog for that???

I would like to say a big welcome to my newest staff member - Anna. She is a newberry college student and is tolerating working for me very well...
