Our normal hours are back - you can come anytime 11ish to 9ish again. We are still closed on Sundays and Mondays. The calendar posted below is interactive. You can choose either November or December and then print it out for yourself. The explanations of the details will show up when you click on them. So check them out first before you print and leave. Only the titles print out on the calendar. Everything in uppercase is a special or class available to you. Everything in lower case is a party room reservation.
I (colleen) have been away at my other job at Irmo High School - but I am pretty much back now - plan on being here all Tuesday nights before Christmas. I feel so out of the loop not having been around much - so I am anxious to get back to "normal".
We have a new girl - Sam - she is excited about learning new stuff and wanted me to do a class on the snowflake platter example you may have seen in the store - So look for that class on December 5th at 7pm [It prints out on the calendar as 7pm - Winter]
You can pick your pottery for this - so it is $15 + pottery - The class should take about two hours.
Also we will try having Pajama Party on two upcoming Saturdays - The first on November 27 and the second on December 29. These are nights we are open until Midnight and we all sit around in our sweats eating chocolate and painting pottery. We also give away prize bags and the conversation is always humming...might be good to get those holiday guests out of the house for awhile and bring them by.
You'll want to look carefully at the open and close dates on the calendar. Pay particular attention to our being open the day after Thanksgiving and closed the week after Christmas through New Years.
If you see Kristen - congratulate her on one year here at Two Peas and wish her Happy Birthday on November 13th! Way to go Kristen!
Well - that touches on a lot of the topics I needed to get off my chest - Just call us if you have any questions - 407-7882
See you soon - well, before December 16th if you want your pottery back for Christmas!

It's time for some new specials and events. We just finished our first summer camp. The last camp is in August - call for details - 407-7882. Well, July is coming at me like a Mack Truck so, here are the specials - effective now until through August.
Ladies' Night - Tuesday
I may move the store and change where everything is at but as of my tenth anniversary on June 20th - one thing has stayed the same. Every tuesday is ladie's night. This is your special night to come brush away your responsibilities for a couple of hours. The studio fee is reduced to $6 and you can still bring your own snacks and drinks.
Beat the Heat - Weekdays
Did we have Spring? I didn't notice. So in the heat of the day if you start painting between 1pm and 4pm - take $3 off your studio fee. This is not only a cool deal - it's just cool in general. Let's hope my air doesn't break!
Family Bonding
So we had a few requests to bring our family deal back and I think it works on Saturday so that you are not trying to go out somewhere after work on Friday. The family deal is the first person is a regular studio fee and then each following person is $2 off. Pottery is seperate as usual. Feel free to get pizza delivered and make a night of it. Pack a cooler and you have killed two birds with one stone.
Salute the Flag
From now until July 3 - the last day before our vacation - anyone who paints the Stars and Stripes on their pottery will get $2 off the pottery price. It has been a long time since Amy did those cute flag platters with the pledge written on them. Does anyone out there remember those? And while yes, the flag would obviously go easiest on a flat rectangular platter - I haven't been able to get those for years - so think out of the "rectangle". ;)
Pajama Party
Here is something we haven't done in a couple of years - Pajama Party means you can come paint until Midnight on August 2. That's right - midnight! In the past we came wearing our pajama's and gave away prizes and had lot's of chocolate and snacks. We have a really good time - bring your friends and settle in to some serious fun.
VACATION
Despite your protests, we cannot paint everyday all the time - Colleen has to go on a vacation where she doesn't have to worry about loading and unloading kilns. So just like always we are closing the week after July 4th. Technically, we are closing July 4 through July 12. Which means we will reopen - properly tanned and rested on July 15. Remember [To Go Kits] are available. (Phyllis)

A goodbye and many thanks...... from Stacy.
My time at Two Peas is finally up. Today I worked my last full shift. Tomorrow I go in for just two hours to open up the studio. These last few days have been very bittersweet for me. In a way, I'm looking forward to what new adventures and opportunities await me. But I'm also sad to leave behind such a wonderful group of people. From co-workers to my loyal customers. I have come to realize that I really didn't look at this so much as a job but as an experience I was very lucky to have.
My boss, friend and mentor Colleen has shown me so much. Taught me so much and just looking back and seeing the growth she has inspired in me, not only as an artist, but as a business woman, a confident woman. She has not only taught me how to work with clay (which she will attest to, I fought tooth and nail) but she's also helped me learn to trust myself. To look inside of myself and meet a challenge head on. She has given me so much insight on the inner workings of running a studio, along with things that she wishes she should of done or not done. Her experience and teachings will only help me when I decide to open up my own studio. And to be honest, when that day comes, I would not of been able to do it without knowing her and having her in my life. And she will be the first person that I invite for my grand opening.
She's open my eyes to things outside of the ceramic world as well. For one (and my favorite thing) is now my love of the 'Outlander' Series. I will never look at strong, redheaded Scottish men the same. (Rawr...)
I hope in return, is that I've shown her that there are people in life that she can rely on and that being bubbly and silly can be a good thing.
Secondly, my customers. Last night was ladies night. My last. I was meant to work that night. I had customers come in that I hadn't seen in a while. It was wonderful to set eyes on them again. But the best part was when I had brand new customers come in. My last Ladies Night was a shining reminder of why I love what I do. Why I fill with pride and joy when I see a customers artwork at the end of the night come out and that they actually like it b/c of my guidance and advice. My heart swells with pride and joy when I have customers come up and say to me, "thank you for taking the time to explain to me how to do this", or "Thank you for helping me". It makes those tough times so much more bearable to have that little nugget of knowledge in my head.
Third - My groupies. Those select few ladies who are regulars who I LOVE. And I mean, love. One special person stands out among all the rest for me. Phyllis. I can not say how much I absolutely adore you. Not only have you supported me in some seriously rough times in my life but you've been someone who makes me laugh and gives me hope in my life. Her friendship to me over these last few years has meant so much to me. She is my surrogate mother, my friend and my blessing. I hope that through the years, her and I stay in tough. I sure plan on making a plan of it. Phyllis - I love you. Thank you for being so wonderful to someone who feels truly blessed to have known you. Just know that whenever I see flip flops, I will think of you.
There are also some people I would like to recognize that have been key components to my life at Two Peas:
Robin and Judy - My first regular customers. I miss you both.
StaceyF - my first coworker. You have beautiful talent. I have missed seeing you.
Jane - Girl, I wish I had more time here and I wish we could of taken advantage of the time we've had. I know we could of caused a lot of trouble. I hope life gives you everything good.
Kristen - My 'official' replacement, lol. You are so wonderful, smart, and have the most beautiful soul on a person I have ever seen. I am so honored that you have chosen to work at Two Peas. I know Colleen couldn't of asked for a better person.
Sandy - You have some serious talent with everything you do. I wish I was going to be around to watch your talent grow as you experiment more with clay. Thank you for all your little gifts over the years and for making the strawberry margarita glass for Cassie. I will miss you.
Gayle - Your work amazes me. AMAZES. You fill me with inspiration and awe. I will miss seeing your creations.
There are so many people, customers, that have touched my life here. You have all made an impact, no matter how small, on me. Every situation has been a learning experience and a joy. I hope that one day, the things I have learned from being a part of this, I can return tenfold to you all.
Oh! And I have to throw this in......
To all my family and friends: Thank you for being good sports over the years with every Christmas or birthday present you have received from me. My philosophy? You can never have enough handpainted pottery gifts. I love you.
Finally, I loved this job. Loved it. I felt that I - Stacy - was finally able to just be ME in my life while I was there. I didn't have on that Mommy hat or wife hat. I was able to put myself neck deep (mostly into clear glaze) into something that had taken a hold of my heart and gave me peace and hope for my life. From seeing brand new babies getting their tiny handprints forever memorized, to the over worked Mom, giving something extra to their children so they can have an outlet to explore their creative side and even to the grandparents who come and sit with their grandchildren as they celebrate their birthdays, I have loved every single minute of it all. I have been so sincerely blessed in my life to know Colleen, to work at Two Peas and to do something I love with all my heart. I will miss it all. I will miss you all. Thank you for letting me be a part (if even if it's just a small one) of it all. And thank you all for being a part of my dream.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!
Happy Spring Everyone!!!
I'm sure you are all just as excited to see spring arrive as I am! There is nothing better than watching the flowers bloom, sending the kids outside to play and enjoying those soothing spring breezes coming through your open windows.
Here at the studio, we're getting ready for spring too. We just came up with a batch of spring specials we're sure you'll love.
But first, did you know that MARCH is actually National Craft Month?? So why not come on down and start slinging some mud around! We've got all the materials you need to work on your very own handbuilt clay project (we've got plenty of molds to slump/hump, plus tons of tools to carve or imprint anything you'd like on the clay). Don't know the first thing about it - NO PROBLEM. One of our 'Peas' will be more than happy to show you the tricks of the trade and help you along. We have even brought back (by popular demand) our pottery wheel! Walk-ins are more than welcome for working on handbuilt projects, but if you'd like a go at the wheel, give us a call at the studio and we can schedule some classes for you.
Now on to the deals and steals.....
SPRING BREAK SPECIAL - Drop kiddos off at 11:30am and pick them up at 1:00pm. Send in a bag lunch and some pottery money and you get a good hour and a half all to yourself. Drop off is good ONLY during Spring Break and ONLY between 11:30am to 1:00pm.
EASTER SPECIAL - Paint any Easter Themed project between now and Easter and get 20% off the pottery item. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter with special discounts hidden in the eggs!
MOTHER'S DAY - Don't forget Mom on May 11th, 2008. Remember that in order for Mom to have her gift, it must be painted no later than May 3rd, 2008 in order to receive it on time. And just in case you do forget, we also have Gift Certificates in any denomination.
This year, we've made it easy for Dad. There will be prepainted pottery ready for him (with our help if needed) to put a handprint and name on. It's quick and easy, especially if you have little ones!! So pass the word around!
And finally our DAILY SPECIALS....
Tuesday - Yup, you guessed it! LADIES NIGHT! Grab your gals and make a night out of painting pottery. Feel free to bring in the food and drink of your choice (yup, that means wine too). Kick back and relax while enjoying good company and fun times! $6 Studio Fee from 5pm-9pm.
WEDNESDAY - Two for One! Pay one full studio fee, get another person's free. Not valid on special pottery glazes.
THURSDAY - Preschool Picasso! From 11a-3p anyone 5yrs and younger can paint for only $4. This is a great deal to take advantage of before Mother's Day to allow kids to make their own personal gift for that lucky mom. (Or if you're really ahead of the game - Dad!)
FRIDAY - Date Night! From 5p-9p, two for $12 studio fee. Couples Only!
So there ya have it! Lots of fun stuff to look over and choose from. Remember to ask about our parties, summer clay camp and large group discounts. And don't forget about WHEEL throwing! It's time to party at the Peas! See you soon!

Handbuild Mugs with Stacy
We've had to change our schedule for the Handbuilding Mugs with Stacy class.
The new date will be March 18th from 6 until close.
If you've never handbuilt with clay before, now's your chance. Stacy will be showing you how to build your very own, useable mug from the bottom up! We'll used lots of different textures to create 'impressions' in the clay. If you have any stamps that you love, bring 'em in! You'll be surprised at what we can do with it!
After you handbuild your mug, leave it here to get fired. The turnaround will be about 2 weeks. Then you come back in and can paint it using our very cool 'pottery glazes' or you can use our everyday 'underglazes'. During the class, Stacy will show you examples of different glazes that will work with the mug you are building.
Once your mug is fired for the last time, it will be compeltely useable and you will have created your very own, personal mug from scratch! How cool is that?!?
Cost of the class will be $10 which includes the clay. When you come back to paint your mug, you'll have an $8 studio fee (for our normal underglazes) or $10 (pottery glazes).
This is a class that is by RESERVATION ONLY! I have to have an accurate head count so I know how much clay to prepare ahead of time. So call today to make your RSVP. See you there!!
The new date will be March 18th from 6 until close.
